Overview

St Kitts & Nevis offers a refreshingly authentic Caribbean experience with a refined twist. On both islands, grand 18th-century plantation houses have been sensitively transformed into intimate boutique hotels, many with original features such as botanical gardens, bathhouses and natural thermal springs. History runs deep here, from the majestic Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park to charming colonial towns and sugar estate ruins scattered among the hills. Golfers will find championship courses with dramatic ocean views, while outdoor lovers can hike the verdant slopes of Nevis Peak or explore the coastline by kayak, paddleboard or catamaran.

Cuisine is a highlight, blending West Indian spice with international flair, whether enjoyed at a beachside shack or fine-dining restaurant. With its easy-going sophistication and rich sense of place, St Kitts & Nevis is tailor-made for luxury travellers. The pace is unhurried, the landscapes lush and the welcome warm.

When to visit

Throughout most of the year, the islands see a hot and tropical climate tempered by trade winds. The driest period is from January to April and there is increased rainfall in summer and towards the end of the year. Like the other Leeward Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis can be affected by hurricanes which are most likely to develop between June and November.
