Day 1 Arrive Boston (D)

Choose between a panoramic city tour by coach or a guided walk along the Freedom Trail and through the historic North End. Both conclude at Quincy Market, where there is time to explore at leisure before an afternoon free to enjoy Boston independently.

Day 3 Through the Berkshires and into Vermont (B, L, D)

Travel west into the Berkshires to visit The Mount, Edith Wharton’s elegant home, before continuing to Williamstown for a docent-led tour of the renowned Clark Art Institute. On select days an alternative visit is made to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge.

Day 4 Hildene's Lincoln Legacy (B , L , D)

In Manchester, Vermont, visit Hildene, the Georgian Revival mansion built by Robert Lincoln, son of President Abraham Lincoln. Set against the Green Mountains, the house is beautifully preserved and offers a glimpse into the Lincoln family’s life and legacy.

Day 5 Fort Ticonderoga & Vermont Traditions (B , L , D)

Journey to Fort Ticonderoga, a stronghold of both the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Later, enjoy an introduction to Vermont’s artisan traditions with a visit to a family-run chocolate maker before returning to your hotel.

Day 6 Shelburne Museum & Lake Champlain Cruise (B , L)

Explore the Shelburne Museum, whose eclectic collection of folk art, historic buildings and the restored steamboat Ticonderoga captures 19th-century American life. Later, take a narrated cruise on Lake Champlain, framed by the surrounding mountain ranges.

Day 7 Vermont to New Hampshire’s White Mountains (B, L, D)

Pause in Montpelier to see Vermont’s elegant State House, then sample maple syrup at a family-run sugarworks before learning about the region’s granite-cutting heritage. Continue into New Hampshire’s White Mountains and settle in at Bretton Woods.

Day 8 Mount Washington Experience (B , L , D)

Travel up Mount Washington, where extreme weather conditions shape the landscape. Enjoy special access to the summit observatory for a talk with one of its scientists before returning via scenic backroads to Bretton Woods for an evening at leisure.

Day 9 Maine Maritime Heritage (B , D)

Head east into Maine to visit the Maine Maritime Museum, which tells the story of the state’s shipbuilding and seafaring past. Later, sit down to a traditional lobster dinner overlooking Casco Bay.

Day 10 Portland Discoveries (B , L)

Join a walking tour of Portland’s historic Old Port before meeting a local lobsterman for a hands-on harbour experience aboard his boat. A tasting at one of New England’s pioneering craft breweries rounds out the afternoon, with the evening free to dine as you choose.

Day 11 The Spectacular Maine Cost (B , D)

Visit Portland Head Light, the state’s oldest lighthouse, before continuing along Maine’s rugged coastline to Kennebunkport, known for its beaches, lighthouses and seaside charm. Return to Portland for free time before a farewell reception and dinner.

Day 12 Depart Boston (B)

After breakfast, travel to Boston where the tour ends at Boston Logan International Airport.
