The hotel is located in the vibrant downtown area, close to the waterfront and within walking distance of numerous attractions, shops, and restaurants. Known for its modern and chic design, the hotel offers stylish accommodations with a rock 'n' roll theme, inspired by famous musicians.

Day 2 St. John’s & Cape Spear

Today become acquainted with the city of St. John's and its surroundings, including Cape Spear, the most Easterly point in North America. This is the oldest colonized region in the new world and your local guide will regale you with its steeped history, legends & lore all flavoured with their personal anecdotes and good humour which Newfoundlanders are famous for. Enjoy the brilliant vistas from Cabot Tower and Signal Hill, one of the most recognizable skylines in Canada. Walk through a cliffside World War II gun battery, watch for whales and seabirds and visit the oldest standing lighthouse in North America. Other stops include Quidi Vidi Village, Jelly Bean Row, Government House, the Roman Catholic Basilica and an orientation of the shops and restaurants of the downtown core.

Day 3 St. John’s to Fogo Island Inn

Depart St. John’s today by private helicopter transfer to Fogo Island Inn. This scenic 75 minute flight will take you over the Bonavista Peninsula and across Hamilton Sound. Between June and July, icebergs can be seen floating in the water north of the mainland.

On arrival at Fogo Island, hotel staff will meet you and transfer you to the resort. Set amongst the rugged landscape and built on the ancient rocks of the Back Western Shore, Fogo Island Inn stands out like a beacon, offering a sense of hospitality and welcome that only a tiny island can. By bringing together a rich culture, history and people, the Inn offers an experience unlike any other, anywhere.

Days 4&5 Fogo Island

Fogo Island is big and small—big enough to be interesting, yet small enough to get to know. It has been called a welcoming wilderness. Each of the seven seasons provides a different perspective for getting to know the island and perhaps yourself. With hot summers, snowy winters, spectacular ice season, hopeful spring, trap berth season and the world’s best berry picking in the fall.

Beyond three meals a day that are catered to suit your personal preferences, the Inn offers afternoon tea, snacks, a daybreak service at the rise of the sun and if you would like to eat anywhere else on the island, they’ll take care of that too.

Fogo Island Inn Year Round Activities

There are many things to do that can be enjoyed all year-round. Explore the Backwestern Shore, enjoy boatbuilding orientations, craft programs, stargazing, a trip to Change Island, or spend a day with the chef. The hotel offers a fitness room, rooftop sauna, & hot tubs, a 37-seat cinema and the heritage library to learn more about the local life.

April to May Spring

Spring is the perfect time for hiking, walking or ambling as the footpaths around the island open up as the snow thaws. Explore the local area while watching out for icebergs and seabirds, or take to the water to row punts and join a harbour tour.

Mid-May to June Trap Berth Season

Named for the time of year that cod trap fishing births are dropped, this transition time from spring to summer is characterized by long, warm days dotted with blooming wildflowers on land and passing icebergs and whales offshore. Spend the long days hiking, refuel at a coastal bonfire or boil up before stargazing under the clear night skies.

July to August Summer

Warm weather coming from southerly breezes make the summer months some of the best in this corner of Newfoundland. The grassy hills are decorated with wildflowers, so it's a great time for more hiking amongst nature, while the paths and trails around the island are welcoming to explore by bicycle too. Look out for the island's summer music festival, watch more icebergs float by or out on the water, learn to hand-line for cod. The calmer seas offer the chance to explore nearby Little Fogo Island, a tiny archipelago dotted with traditional wooden houses and a traditional seasonal fishing base.

September to October Berry Season

Early fall (autumn) on Fogo Island brings about Berry Season. Bright sunrises, long sunsets and light breezes from the west see the island carpeted by dozens of varieties of edible berries, hence the name! Hike the pathways in cooler temperatures and scoop handfuls of blueberries, raspberries, marshberries and partridge berries. Here you will find locals also enjoying the natural bounty for your chance to get insider tips. Festivals continue from summer and local Tilting celebrates its Irish heritage with the Fiele Tilting.

Day 6 Fogo Island Inn to Gander

Depart Fogo Island today by private helicopter transfer to Gander. From here you can carry on your travels or return home.
