Five Things We'd Tell Anyone Booking Ikos Andalusia

By Helen Brown

Luxury all-inclusive holidays have evolved considerably over the past decade, and few resorts demonstrate that better than Ikos Andalusia. Between Marbella and Estepona on Spain's Costa del Sol, the resort brings together exceptional dining, beautifully designed accommodation and the award-winning Unconditional Luxury concept under one sun-drenched roof.

The result is a holiday that feels every bit as luxurious as a traditional five-star hotel, while including far more than many travellers expect. If we were helping someone plan a stay at Ikos Andalusia, these are the five things we'd always share before they book.

1. Ikos Andalusia Appeals to More Than All-Inclusive Travellers

One of the biggest misconceptions about Ikos Andalusia is that it's simply another all-inclusive resort.

In reality, it's often a great choice for travellers who would usually choose a luxury hotel. Michelin-starred chef-curated menus, beautifully designed suites, attentive service and exceptional attention to detail create a holiday that feels refined from the moment guests arrive.

At the heart of the experience is Ikos' award-winning Unconditional Luxury concept. Rather than focusing on what's included, it focuses on giving guests the freedom to experience the destination without compromising on luxury. That means dining at carefully selected local restaurants through Dine Out, discovering Andalucía with the Local Drive Adventure, enjoying personalised 24-hour room service, premium drinks, waiter service on the beach and by the pool, and a wealth of sports, wellness and family experiences woven into the holiday.

2. Make the Costa del Sol Part of the Holiday

Ikos Andalusia is perfectly placed for exploring one of Spain's most rewarding coastlines, and we'd always encourage guests to venture beyond the resort.

Spend an afternoon wandering Estepona's colourful streets, often referred to as the 'Garden of the Costa del Sol', browse the boutiques of Marbella, or head inland to the dramatic clifftop town of Ronda.

The resort makes this even easier through Local Drive Adventure, where guests can borrow a complimentary electric MINI for the day, or two days when staying in the Deluxe Collection, making independent exploration part of the holiday experience.

3. Think About the Deluxe Collection Early

If you're celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, milestone birthday or appreciate a little more space and privacy, it's well worth exploring the Deluxe Collection before you book.

The larger suites and villas are only part of the story. Guests also enjoy a dedicated concierge, exclusive beach and pool areas, complimentary spa treatments, upgraded wine selections and an extended Local Drive Adventure, giving them even more time to discover the Costa del Sol.

Availability is naturally more limited than the standard accommodation, so it's worth considering early, particularly for peak travel periods.

4. Build an Evening Around Dine Out

A favourite inclusion for us at Ikos Andalusia is Dine Out.

Rather than limiting guests to the resort's restaurants, the programme invites them to experience carefully selected local restaurants as part of their stay. It's the perfect excuse to combine an afternoon exploring Estepona with an authentic Andalusian dinner before returning to the resort later that evening.

Few luxury resorts actively encourage you to leave and explore, but that's exactly what makes the experience at IKOS Andalusia feel so refreshing.

5. Seven Nights Gives You the Best of Both Worlds

While shorter stays work well, we'd usually recommend seven nights wherever possible.

It gives guests time to enjoy the resort's exceptional restaurants, spa, pools and beachfront setting while also making the most of everything beyond its gates. One day could be spent exploring Andalucía by MINI, another enjoying Dine Out, while the rest can be dedicated to relaxing by the Mediterranean.

It's this balance between resort life and destination discovery that makes Ikos Andalusia different from many other luxury beach holidays.

Why Ikos Andalusia Continues to Stand Out

What we like most about Ikos Andalusia is that it never asks guests to choose between enjoying the resort and experiencing the destination. Whether it's spending the day exploring Estepona, driving through Andalucía or returning for dinner created by Michelin-starred chefs, the holiday naturally combines both.

It's this balance, together with outstanding service and one of Europe's strongest luxury all-inclusive concepts, that keeps IKOS Andalusia firmly among our favourite resorts on the Costa del Sol.
